Hello, the scenario is as follows: 1) I've opened the program, (almost) all settings were at default (I changed some small things at record options).
2) Clicked the gear at the top-> Hotkeys->"Ctrl" in the drop-down menu was changed to "none". "Pause macro" entered value as "p". "Stop playback" entered value as "s". "Stop macro" remained F10. 3) I've recorded some short little playing with the mouse. right clicks, left clicks and etc...
4) "Play macro" was clicked and the mouse movement repeated.
5) When pressing- "s", "p" and "f10" keys, nothing happens and the green playback bar fills up until the very end.
In it the user was complaining about a similar problem and the reply was that maybe the Ctrl key was eaten by another program, so I've tried doing without it... but alas...
I have no programs that respond when pressing those keys... I will say, however, that the program does runs inside an isolated virtual box.
Any ideas as to how to resolve the issue? (The solution the user of said post found also doesn't do anything for me).
Thank you very much! Raj.

Hi, Cheers for the run down. It helps. I think most likely the issue here is the macro running within Virtual Box and how your attempting to send the hotkey's in. After a quick google i found these default hotkeys within Virtual Box hardwaresfera.com/en/articulos/atajos-teclado-virtualbox/. Any hotkeys you configuration with MMM will counter with those Virtual Box has natively running. This will also apply to any shortcuts/hotkeys enabled for other applications running within your OS within the Virtual Box VM.

Many thanks for the reply(!), to be honest this forum doesn't seem to be very active so I didn't expect one so soon... Yes, that was the essence of what you've wrote to that other user and is the reason for me replacing the "ctrl" button in the drop-down menu- I wanted to make sure that there would be no clash whatsoever with any other utility (I've then tried some other weird combos, just to make sure). While indeed ctrl+random key\alt+random key is a staple in many cases, just using a single button (like the letter 'p' or the number '1') would create a havoc for most programs, with a barrage of complaints from people using their PC normally when suddenly something gets activated... I know its weird and probably useless, but just in case I've attached 2 images- the first is how the hotkeys settings look like, the second is what happens despite me pressing the "S" button vigorously (the green bar is almost half full)...

Okay... I'm a bit ashamed for bothering you... I think I solved the issue and I should have solved it by myself a week ago...
It was, as always, a bit dumb.
For any future google searcher with a similar issue that will stumble upon this post- if you are using a virtual machine, check out it specific type (Virtual box\Vmware, windows sandbox, Hyper-V and etc...) and the way it does virtualization. Some machines (like mine) have a type of isolation that prevents any interactions with the host and do not posses any software mediator to capture and forward some commands. In some cases it is possible to bypass at the expense of security (If you are using a machine not for security reasons, for instance).
It is not that they use the same hotkeys it is that they do not allow hotkeys to begin with.
Anyway, thank you very much for the spared attention and if this post needs to be flagged as "solved"- than you can do this (I obviously can't edit anything).

Don’t feel bad: it’s almost always easy once you know the solution, but yours wasn’t that easy at all. Thanks A LOT for coming back to share how it was solved!
