Hi Tankman,
Sometimes other programs can eat the ctrl+<whatever> keys before MMM can eat them. It really depends on what you are doing and where your trying to run MMM to and from. I've seen this behavior when certain applications have focus that also respond to these keys, when people run MMM within a VM or remote session, or when people run MMM and jump inside a game or Java based environment.
Have you tried changing the key combo for the hotkey? Running this test will let us know if its a certain key combination thats being eaten by a different app thats open. Have you tried a simple test with no applications open? This test will do pretty much the same as the first one but will give us more certainty that its not MMM thats the issue.
Cheers, Steve.

hello,
on my own laptop I needed to hold the "Fn" (function) key to access the F keys (I solved it but don't remember how).
I also reassigned all of my hotkeys to avoid using ctrl as depending in which software I was using the macro I would get strange behaviours (software eating keystrokes)

Thanks Steve, I have tried your suggestions but still will not work. I should add this is a laptop and I have also tried turning touch screen on and off Ok so you ran a test with no applications open and with changing the hotkey to something other than the default and this still didn't work. As philranger suggested I would be looking at something with you laptop like function lock. To test this out, change the hotkey to something like CTRL+M. If it runs then we know its the function lock.

Thanks Steve, I have got the hotkeys to work. The mistake I made was that I only changed the “stop macro running” instead of changing all of them to “alt”. Thanks for your help
