Checking for a Specific Condition Throughout the Macro

Is there a possibility to check for a specific condition throughout the entire process when using a Macro? For instance, if a particular image appears at a specific time (nobody knows wenn) while the Macro is running, is there a way to pause the Macro? Or Is there a way to restart the entire process if the Macro unexpectedly gets stuck at any point? For instance, in case the Macro encounters an unforeseen issue, can it be set to initiate the entire operation anew?
