I'm not even completely sure if it's possible in MMM; but, as a coder, I've learned almost nothing is impossible it's just a question of time and how well it can do the task.
Debugging is probably one of the most time intensive tasks in any piece of code. I would think that it might be possible to use either mouseover to show the contents of the variable, or a small window that stays open that contains a list of variable names. I think also Ideally this should be an option (Default: OFF) ... it might get irritating during code writing sessions. Of course, this leads to also having a line by line run of the Macro. I'd choose seeing a variable's content over line by line for now. ;-)
I like both possibilities... The Watch window is a fairly common concept in coding (ideally it could use message prompt command window to set it up.) I would think it's possible to get a handle on that window and update the contents. But I'd certainly be happy with the optional Mouseover showing a variable's content.
Just some thoughts that keep recurring while I write the code. :-)
I have to mention line labels and named variables: Both are working great! Because coding is so much easier now, my one macro is running about 900 lines of code now, including comments... And I'll admit, I'm an avid commenter... though it doesn't exceed 20% of the lines... so 700+ lines of code.
Thanks for the consideration! :-)
