Hi Steve,
The following lines all worked well:
33 | RUN ACTION | | | | SELECT WINDOW BY NAME | Notepad or 148 | RUN ACTION | | | | SELECT WINDOW BY NAME | Google Chrome or 19 | RUN ACTION | | | | SELECT WINDOW BY NAME | Mozilla Firefox
That was when I had only 1 window for each. What if I have more than 1 Notepad windows? How to tell them apart? Is there a way to find out a Window's name? Can I use wild card character * to select a window? If so, how? What if my window has tabs like Chrome? How to specify a tab?
Thanks a lot! John

Hi John, To select individual windows the names need to be unique. 1 | RUN ACTION | | | | SELECT WINDOW BY NAME | New Tab - Mozilla Firefox 2 | RUN ACTION | | | | WAIT SECONDS | 3 3 | RUN ACTION | | | | SELECT WINDOW BY NAME | Mini Mouse Macro - Turnssoft - Software development - Mozilla Firefox The example above I have two Firefox browsers open, not one with two tabs but two separate browsers. The first browser is at at new tab the second browser it at the Mini Mouse Macro web page. When the macro runs it selects the browser with the new tab, waits 3 seconds, then selects the browser with the MMM web page. This works because each open instance of the browser has an 'active' page title. When a browser is open and has many page titles, many tabs open, only one tab can be active for that browser. For notepad the same applies. For this to work each notepad title needs to be unique. You can get unique notepad titles by saving the notepad files first.
1 | RUN ACTION | | | | SELECT WINDOW BY NAME | Untitled - Notepad 2 | RUN ACTION | | | | WAIT SECONDS | 3 3 | RUN ACTION | | | | SELECT WINDOW BY NAME | output.txt - Notepad The example above works because each Notepad window is unique. Hope this helps.
