Bug Report: String variables reset after any GOTO MACRO LINE

Hi Steve, 

After hours of debug and getting familiar with the log file, I have confirmed this bug again:

String variables reset after any GOTO MACRO LINE!

On line 12, also tried %RETURN%+5 instead of 16, it went to the wrong line!

So I think I have found 2 bugs for flow control.

MMM 6.7.1.0 Pro Beta with win 7 x64

I can't seem to replicate your issues. The macro you have above looks a little bit off. Your line 2 you prompt a message box. This takes your focus off the WordPad window when you click the 'OK'. This step causes your lines 3 to 8 to fail because you are no longer in the focus of the wordpad document.

GOTO LINE seems to be working as it is intended. Check out this basic example below. Here you can see GOTO directing flow forward and backward whilst maintaining variable values.

oic... but I had no problem getting the wordpad in focus. Perhaps I had the wordpad window in the middle where the click-box is; therefore there is an overlap. Not sure...

Your basic example showed the same problem on my computer. After line 11 and going back to line 2, all the string variables were reset! the message prompt showed all null strings!!

I think not being able to reproduce the problem is the problem lol.
Perhaps something is wrong with my environment setup.

Not sure John. That macro should work as it reads. Do you have a mmm_settings.ini file in the minimousemacro.exe directory? if you have a mmm_settings.ini file in the same directory as the main exe then that file becomes the 'master' settings file. All settings are read from that file. Other than that I see no reason why that macro would fail. Can you paste in the macro that you had that is failing? Maybe the syntax is off some way.

You could try removing 'uninstalling' MMM settings. In the Options page - select the uninstall tab. Check remove registry entries, remove files and click the rubbish bin. Also after that check the 'Delete registry on program close' check box. Then exit Mini Mouse Macro. This will reset all the settings and wipe MMM from the registry giving a 'clean' install.

oops... I do not have the mmm_settings.ini file.
In addition, I did not install the minimousemacro.exe on windows 7 x64.
I just placed the exe in a folder: C:\Program_Portable\mmm as it seemed to run alone.
There was no installer. So I don't think I have touched the registry... maybe that's a problem lol!

This is the full length of the test macro I had failing. nothing more, nothing less.

I can see that with the event log that the macro is running as it should but your variables are just not retaining. This is strange.

Mini Mouse Macro writes to the registry to store its settings, settings like Variables. It's doesn't 'install' but it does read and write to the local registry (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Turnssoft\MiniMouseMacroPro). Give the uninstall registry settings a try.


In the Options page - select the uninstall tab. Check remove registry entries, remove files and click the rubbish bin. Also after that check the 'Delete registry on program close' check box. Then exit Mini Mouse Macro. This will reset all the settings and wipe MMM from the registry giving a 'clean' install.

This will rule out any setting related issues.

Super!! It seems working now after the uninstall despite some error messages and crashing!  Thanks a million Steve!
Can't believe I could live without variable retaining and Goto for so long!!
