I am using MMM Pro and have set up a macro to click on a “connect” button in a window on a PC used as a logger for solar and weather data.
The macro works fine when I am logged on although I have to run as an Administrator and allow permission when running the macro for the click to activate.
I have the macro running in Scheduler with the highest permissions so it will start up with the other programs when unattended. However although the macro starts and shows completed the curser has only gone to the button without progressing the click.
Is there a solution to my problem or is this a limitation of the program and windows UAC.

Hello,
Troubleshooting unattended stations is always difficult. Are you sure it Is completely logged in and that the button had time to both display and come into focus? Maybe adding a second click 1/2 second later?

It can be difficult to troubleshoot these kinds of issues. Saying that though, this thread here has some good discussion on it minimousemacro.proboards.com/thread/161/remote-apps-receive-keystrokes that might help. Is there a solution to my problem or is this a limitation of the program and windows UAC. Some windows events MMM needs to be run with Administrator permissions 'run as administrator'. I've seen this as a requirement when MMM clicks into some system dialogs. If your running MMM as administrator then we can remove UAC from the most part of this issue.

Hello, Troubleshooting unattended stations is always difficult. Are you sure it Is completely logged in and that the button had time to both display and come into focus? Maybe adding a second click 1/2 second later? I had thought of a second click and do have it in the macro but to no avail. I also have a delay before the click to ensure the other program has started. Your comment on being completely logged in is interesting as when I manually log in before the programs finish loading from scheduler everything works ok as it does if I run the macro manually from scheduler. I thought that as the scheduler runs the macro on log in that windows has started with the user logged in. Maybe there is more to this that I’m aware of.

This has just about got me beat. I have tried a number of settings and get the same result. The log files show the macro runs and completes all the commands but in reality the cursor moves to the designated position stops there with any mouse click initiated. I have tried on a PC and a laptop to start different windows with no result. I had tried another macro recorder that did work satisfactorily but was an on going three month subscription which made it uneconomic for sporadic use.
So my question is has anyone been able to replicate with success what I am trying to achieve that might give me some hope? If it can’t be achieved in the current version of MMM is there likely to be an update to include it in a future version?

It might help. Is it likely to be in an update to a future version? Probs not. MMM needs to hook into aspects of the environment that are not present in an unattended session. To put it another way, MMM needs a real active desktop and a live functioning user for mouse events. MMM has a few remote like features. Have a look here www.turnssoft.com/remote.html and here www.turnssoft.com/conditions.html#remote. It might trigger some ideas.

Ok, I understand now, the screen has to be displayed to achieve my idea. It did give a thought that a transparent screen lock might work but I don’t think I will bother. It would be nice to have full auto but I can manually install Windows updates that need a restart and then restart the inverter software at the time or use a remote desktop in the event of an extended power failure if I am away.
