Keep button held while doing other things

I would keep a button pressed, for example d, the entire time the macro is running. For example hold down the letter d and left click here left-click there release the letter d. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have tried this and it doesn't hold 2 down

Hi Gavinne,

First of all welcome to the forum.

I had just tried something simple and similar, with the same result.

1 | X | X | 1000 | Keypress a | Key Down
2 | X | X | 1000 | Keypress a | Key Release
This should have made line of a's in notepad but only one showed up.

Steve Is this not working anymore?

Yeah I'm about at my wits end LOL I'm just trying to keep one key held down while moving the mouse around and clicking

  A quick Google revealed that AutoHotKey seems to provide that feature.  I don't know if it would be good enough by itself or if a combo with MMM would be needed for your specific application.

Im sure keydown and release for single keys works but I'm having some issues testing it out.
How are you guys testing this?
