While recording a macro, it only captures mouse clicks and certain keys. When I press `, -, =, and other non alphanumeric keys, it records KEY PRESS - then inserts a line KEYPRESS Pause automatically.

Weird. I can't reproduce your error. When I record those characters i get those characters:
1 | 685 | 680 | 2943 | Keypress `
2 | 685 | 680 | 2989 | Keypress -
3 | 685 | 680 | 2007 | Keypress =
I am using a standard keyboard.
