When I go to Program Options>File Association>New Folder Path and point to the folder I created which contains both the MiniMouseMacro.exe and my newly created MyMacro.mmmacro file, I get an error message which says: "Error Creating Startup Path Error: Something has gone wrong trying to create this path or copy the file MiniMouseMacro.exe to the selected path. Here is the error: The process cannot access the file 'P:\MiniMouseMacro\MiniMouseMacro.exe' because it is being used by another process."
I have no other applications open hence I am puzzled as to what is the problem. If I try Program Options>Run at Windows startup>New Folder Path I get the same error message as mentioned above.

Hi Phildo,
This error message is generated when the current running minimousemacro.exe is in the folder target for the file association. To set file association select a folder that does not have the running minimousemacro.exe in the selected folder. The file association will copy the current running minimousemacro.exe into that folder. It sounds a little back to front but for some reason a few years back when I coded it in it made sense....now not so much.
Regards, Steve.

I created a folder called "MiniMouseMacro" and moved the MiniMouseMacro.exe program into it. I then created a separate folder on a different drive called "MiniMouseMacro file" and placed the macro I made with the program yesterday. When I right-clicked the macro file within this folder and went to properties, it said 'Unknown application' to open. I changed this to MiniMouseMacro.exe by pointing it to the directory where the program is(first sentence). When I created a task in Task Manager to "Start Program" and pointed to the macro file itself, this did not work. When TM ran the task, this appeared on the screen(see attached image). I went to Windows Settings>Default Apps>Choose Default Apps by File Type and scrolled down to ".mmmacro MMMACRO File" it was indeed associated with Mini Mouse Macro with the icon. I'm not sure what to do at this point as I'm not adept at editing the Registry if that is necessary. Here's what I'm trying to do: Create a Macro which will double left click on a desktop shortcut for IE. I've set the homepage to a particular news web-page but when the page loads, a single left click is required on the arrow in the center of the video or nothing happens(site has disabled auto-play). I use this as my alarm clock each morning and therefore the Macro is needed to make this work. The Macro I created runs great when I manually start it but I'm trying to get Task Manager to run it successfully while I'm asleep in order to wake me up. Thank you for your ongoing support to resolve this. Phildo

Update: After receiving an error message about needing to edit the registry by running MiniMouseMacro as an administrator the file is now properly associated. I decided to load the macro into the queue and set the macro to run at program startup everything works as I had hoped for. This was my first use of a macro and I must say that the program is well written and has lots of useful features which I will explore more. Thank you for your help and the nudge to allow me to try different things until it worked.
